LearningZone, Library and Services Through MyDMU

MyDMU works as a hub. Rather than hosting every service itself, it links you straight into the tools DMU already runs. This guide explains what sits behind each tile so you know where to go for a given task.

LearningZone

LearningZone is the virtual learning environment where module content lives. From MyDMU you jump directly into it with no second login. Inside, you will find lecture slides, reading lists, assignment briefs, submission points and feedback on marked work. Deadlines set in LearningZone can also appear in the app home screen.

Library catalogue

The Library tile opens the catalogue search. Use it to find books, e-books, journal articles and databases. Your account also shows current loans, due dates and reservations. Renewals are handled there, not inside MyDMU.

Library e-resources often need a second sign-in when accessed off campus. That is the publisher's requirement, not a MyDMU problem.

IT support

The IT support link takes you to the service desk portal where you can log a ticket, check its status, and read knowledge base articles. For urgent problems such as being locked out of your account, the phone line is faster than a ticket.

Students' Union

The DSU tile links to the Students' Union website for societies, sports clubs, advice services and events. Membership details for societies are managed on the DSU site.

Campus facilities

A newer section of the app lists study spaces, food outlets and other facilities with opening times. It is useful for finding a quiet room between sessions or checking whether a café is open during vacation.

News and student life

The news feed carries university announcements and stories about student life. It is lighter reading than the messages area and can be scrolled when you have a spare minute.

Digital assistant

The app includes an AI-powered assistant for quick questions. It is good at pointing you to the right service or page. For anything involving your personal record, speak to a human team instead.
